East Haddon Tipi Wedding
Sophie and Simon celebrated their tipi wedding in East Haddon, Northamptonshire at a family friend’s farm. They had a clear vision of how they wanted to celebrate along with how they wanted their tipi space to look and feel.
The initial wedding plan was to get married in Tuscany. After considering how important it was to celebrate with as many family and friends as they wish, they knew they needed to have something a little closer to home.
The vision was always to create something that was traditional yet had a relaxed feel. With family travelling from all over to join them, they chose to marry on a Friday but still making the most of the tipis on the Saturday bringing the family back for a hog roast, table quiz and silent disco! Making it a whole weekend long of celebrations.
English country meets Cali Boho
Sophie and Simon knew that they didn’t want a traditional marquee and tipi was the perfect fit for their Cali Boho vibe. They had their ceremony at St Mary the Virgin Church in East Haddon, Northamptonshire, with the tipis just a short walk away.
Ross Talling their wedding photographer, did a fabulous job capturing the day and the very special memories created;
Sophie had a large hand-tied bouquet full of deep red, blush and peachy orangey tones. Each of the bridesmaids had smaller visions of the bridal bouquet and matching flower crowns.
A local florist to East Haddon, Joan Francis, did the church flowers. She created beautiful posies for the pew ends and two stunning pedestals to go either side of the altar.
To the front of the tipis, they had stone flower planters which came from Sophie’s mum’s garden. Sat on all of the tables was a ‘wildflower’ arrangement also made by Sohpie’s Mum, using flowers again from her own garden.
DIY Photo booth
Sophie got really creative with their outdoor photo booth. This DIY booth complimented the styling within the tipis perfectly. The backdrop consisted of a garden trellis that was wrapped in our coloured ribbon. Rugs were then dropped over the hay bales to create a Moroccan-esque outdoor seating area.
