Marcia & Tom’s Boho Style Tipi Wedding
Marcia and Tom celebrated their Boho Style Tipi Wedding in Two Giant Hats and Chill-Out Tipi at Cattows Farm. They filled the tipis with boho styling details with celestial moon and star touches to reflect their theme of “I love you to the moon and back”. With neutral colours and pops of greenery, it was all stunning.
They created a super relaxed festival style wedding with all their nearest and dearest. Marcia talks us through the details here alongside their gorgeous photos.
What made you decide on an outdoor wedding?
We chose an outdoor wedding because we both enjoy the outdoors, with wanting our wedding in the summer, we wanted something a little different, we liked the idea of our wedding having a festival feel to it.
What did everybody wear?
The groom wore a white shirt, black trousers, black braces with black bow tie and a cream jacket all purchased from Asos! Ushers wore the same with a black jacket. Bride wore a Monica Loretti dress, from a bridal shop names ‘Isla b Bridal’ – a modern wedding dress with a twist of vintage, an elegant simple dress with a bespoke made veil cape from Etsy. The bridesmaids wore a champagne gold silk dress.
Tell us about your ceremony.
Our wedding ceremony was at the same venue as the reception. At Cattows farm, just outside by the large oak tree, with Jo – My perfect Ceremony. She created a bespoke vows ceremony which made it personal to us, with the ceremony being outside it created a lovely calming atmosphere, everyone was sat on hay bales, relaxing in the sun and sipping a cold beverage.

How would you describe your theme / styling?
We chose a boho theme for our wedding, with the moon incorporated as our saying to one an other is ‘I love you to the moon and back’. We wanted a neutral colour pallet, with a pop of greenery from the flowers.
How did you entertain your guests?
For entertainment we had David Penn – a magician. For the evening we had ‘Light it up’ DJ and a saxophone player, playing all our favourite party dance songs.

How did you feed your guests?
We were catered for by Gourmet Pop Up, a small family business which were highly recommended to us. The guests were greeted before the meal with canapés. For the main meal we had a selection meats – sausages, beef steak and Peri peri chicken, all served with homemade coleslaw, new potatoes and veg. For desert we had chocolate brownie and cheesecake. We chose this menu because we wanted a summery outdoor vide, we wanted our guests to have the options to help themselves to as much food as they wanted from the sharing platters, that way we knew everyone would be satisfied and it kept well within our budget. The evening food was bacon butties and chips, served in little baskets.

What are your Top Tips for planning a Tipi wedding?
Top tips for a tipi wedding would be to plan for the tipi to be somewhere local, less travelling for yourself and guests. Plan for the summer time, a fun outdoor wedding had a much more relaxed atmosphere, a tipi venue was perfect for a bespoke layout, you could really visualise where you wanted everything to be. Having a tipi wedding at a venue you are familiar with also made it feel private.
I’d also say make sure you visit the tipi when set up, you can get a feel for which tent you’d like on your big day, I enjoyed speaking to all the other suppliers.
