The Choice Is Yours

Many couples planning a wedding want to make sure that the wedding ceremony reflects their own beliefs and personalities. Mark and Chris celebrated their marriage in style in three giant hat tipis. Choosing firstly to conduct their wedding ceremony in a field and have an outdoor wedding ceremony. Over to Mark to talk about why they chose to have an outdoor wedding ceremony;

It Felt Right

When I thought about our wedding I always imagined it to be outside! Initially we planned on having our wedding abroad; we even provisionally booked the hotel! Then we started to think about getting everyone there. Being surrounded by everyone was important to us. When the questions of how personalised it would have been in another country we started to think that somewhere closer to home was more important. We’re both typical home birds…never too far from home and Derby born and bred we knew having our wedding at home was the right decision.

Then we had to choose where…and the local farm where I had played on occasion as a child was not only idyllic but also part of my growing up, could it get anymore perfect?? Yes actually…it got even more perfect when we decided on Sami Tipi for our wedding provider and Jo from My Perfect Ceremony as the person who would conduct our ceremony. Both compliment each other perfectly for an outdoor wedding.

We Wanted Something Different

We’d both been to plenty of civil weddings before and one thing that concerned us was how quickly they can seem to be over. It was really important to us that our ceremony was different…we were amongst some of the first same sex couples to legally get married this year so we wanted it to be something special…personal and reflecting who we are, we knew it was going to be easy to achieve this when we met Jo from My Perfect Ceremony.

The outside element of the day was even better…of course you rely heavily on the Great British weather but for us thankfully it was a glorious day with sunshine and beautiful clouds captured perfectly by our photographer. Of course, the weather could have been very different but we had a Plan B ready to execute if need be!

Watch The Day Unfold

We were lucky enough to have Lara capture our day with film, which we absolutely love. The first time we watched it we cried with happiness.
