With Spring in the Air, we have a real treat for the senses. A feast of seasonal floral and colour filled Tipi Styling
We were so excited to hand the Tipis over to Tara of Tara Knott Styled Events and Fran Smith from Limewood Flowers with the brief simply being “Spring”. What they created was nothing short of a Bomb of Springtime, bursting with a kaleidoscope of colours.
Their collaboration transformed our Tipis into a spring vision, merging bold styling with the lush spring blossoms. You are in for a real treat;

The Tipi Space
We gave Tara and Fran the space of three Giant Hats and a Chill Out Tipi. With the essential elements in place – twinkly fairy lights and all the furniture. We left it up to their creative genius to turn this blank canvas into a Spring Styled Tipi. And indeed, the transformation was nothing short of amazing turning the space into a springtime dream.

The Spring Colour Palette
Tara Knott shares her vision: “In the world of Tipis, colour isn’t just an option; it’s my first port of call for styling. This time, I envisioned a crisp aesthetic, accentuated with white drapes and vivid floral arrangements, all complemented by minimalistic candle displays. We decided on a neon sign to illuminate the top table backdrop and added colourful disco balls for a playful twist.

For the colour palette, we went for a blend that feels like spring itself, full of soft peaches, vibrant greens, and delicate pinks just coming together like they’re meant to be. It all built up to this incredible statement piece right at the entrance of the Tipi, really setting the scene for what’s inside. It’s like we bottled the essence of spring and let it explode in colour right there.”

The Florals
We’ll now hand over to Fran who will talk to us about the floral aspects to the styling:
Tipi weddings are a favourite of mine, so when Jodie asked me to be part of the Spring Showcase I jumped at the chance. Tara had put together a wonderful palette of peaches and oranges and I could immediately imagine the kinds of flowers that would work perfectly for it.

The overall look was really special. A great example of where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. The greens in Tara’s table runners brought out the peachy colours in the flowers and the pink candles highlighted the pinks in the table bowls, creating a coherent look.

Eco-Friendly
All the flowers I used for the showcase were grown in England. With over 90% of the flowers sold in the UK being imported this is actually quite unique! Limewood Flowers is a principles based business working in a very eco-friendly way.
This means supporting other small businesses, paying the team fairly and working with British-grown flowers whenever possible (among lots of other things). The carbon footprint of imported flowers is huge and unfortunately, they are usually covered in a multitude of chemical pesticides. Not what you want if you are going to be holding a bouquet all day.

Spring Florals
British grown flowers in early spring can be a challenge, however, there are some excellent growers that make it that much easier. The tulips I used were grown in Lincolnshire by third generation flower farmers, not that most people could recognise them as tulips! The speciality parrot tulips have the most amazing bi-coloured, twisty and frilly petals. Definitely something different to ask for if you are planning a spring wedding.
All the glorious, ruffly pink and peach ranunculus were grown in Norfolk. The farmer even gave me a tour when I went to pick them up, a florists dream! Ranunculus are the perfect spring wedding flower, all the elegance of a rose with so much more drama. Plus, they are available in almost every colour.

With the statement blooms from tulips and ranunculus, we move on to the ‘support acts’. These are the flowers in the arrangement that fill out the background and enable the others to shine. One of my local artisan growers had the most amazing peach wallflowers that complimented the palette perfectly. Again, it is another flower that most might only see in your Gran’s garden. This is the thing about flowers, they can remind you of all those special memories with your Gran and a way to make your day more personal.

In the table bowls I also used apple and cherry blossom as a ‘support act’ and these added texture and a paler tone to ensure the brighter colours stood out. Where the blossom really made an impact, however, was the arch. Long stems of blossom added height and a natural ‘grown in place’ look, which works well to bring the outdoors in.

The Statement Piece
The essence of a statement piece is to capture the moment, to create that instant when everyone just has to pause, pull out their phones, and snap a photo. It’s more than decoration; it’s about crafting memorable experiences for you and your guests that linger long after the day is done.
This is why I always advocate for a standout floral feature in your setup. The broken arch, or what some might refer to as the pillar design, was the ultimate wow moment with the florals.
