Having the perfect spot in their family’s garden made the decision to have a Bohemian styled Tipi Wedding an easy one!
Celebrating in One Giant Hat Tipi, with a festival theme running throughout the day, Lauren and Jonathan didn’t want a ‘conventional’ wedding. For them it was about bringing everyone they love into a space that felt like home and having a celebration with a personal and relaxed vibe. With a hands on approach to the styling, they certainly created what they wanted, and so much more!

What made you decide on an outdoor wedding?
We had the perfect spot in my in-laws’ garden and field, so this made our decision to go for an outdoor wedding easy. The location was not only meaningful to us but also ideal for the chilled-out, festival-like atmosphere we were aiming for. It was about bringing everyone we love into a space that felt like home and having a celebration that was both personal and relaxed.
What did you both wear?
I wore a lace fitted dress with a champagne-coloured lining. It featured a tasteful split, a gracefully low-cut neckline, and off-the-shoulder cap sleeves.

The groom chose a stone-coloured three-piece suit complemented by tan shoes, achieving a stylish yet relaxed look. We decided against having a bridal party, keeping in line with the wedding’s intimate and laid-back atmosphere.

How would you describe your ceremony?
Our ceremony was right outside the Tipi, using its light-strung walkway as an aisle. A close friend who’s known us for years was the officiant, which made everything feel more personal.

We wanted to keep things interesting for our guests, so we ditched the traditional script and wrote our own, keeping it light yet meaningful. We exchanged promise rings instead of the usual wedding bands and picked our favourite songs for both the entrance and exit.

It was all about making the ceremony feel like ‘us’—a bit unconventional, relaxed, and full of our own style.

How did you feed your guests?
Since our wedding started at 4pm, we decided on a single, all-encompassing food setup. Embracing the festival theme, we brought in Riccardo’s Pizza Oven and had a grazing table from Supreme Grazing, offering a variety of flavours and options.

For dessert, we had a Crepe Van from Lady Crepington, which was a huge hit with our guests. The whole setup was a nod to our love for casual yet delicious dining experiences, and everything turned out to be incredibly tasty!

How would you describe your theme/styling?
We took a hands-on approach with the decorations and styling. We chose a boho and natural theme, complemented by striking black stationary and signs.

To enhance the vibe, we incorporated pampas grass and dried flowers from Pampas Box and had our celebration Arch decorated by Orchids Flowers and Venue Dressing. All of this added a rustic and earthy feel to the setting. Doing the majority of the styling ourselves made the day even more personal and reflective of our style.

How did you entertain your guests?
To keep our guests entertained, we arranged for the live guitarist and singer Ben Foulds to perform, who was absolutely fantastic and really got everyone up and dancing. Adding to the fun, we set up giant wooden games like limbo, noughts & crosses, and Jenga in the field. It created a really lively and interactive atmosphere that everyone enjoyed.

What are your Top Tips for planning a Tipi wedding?
If you’re planning a Tipi or Sailcloth wedding, my top advice would be to attend a showcase first. It’s a game-changer to see everything set up in person. Also, don’t overlook the importance of outdoor toilets. We went for some really fancy ones, and they were a hit with our guests – a small detail that can make a big difference!
