Sailcloth Floral Installations
The most impactful thing you can do for your flower budget is to go big! And no, I do not mean with the budget, but with a statement piece. Having one or two statement floral installations in your Sailcloth will add so much more WOW than if you tried to stretch out your floral budget to have flowers everywhere.
Here are some of the ways we’ve seen couples, stylists and their florists get creative with floral installations:
The Sailcloth Entrance
A floral archway at the top of your Sailcloth walkway always looks incredible. It is the first statement piece your guests will see when they arrive at your Sailcloth. They will be naturally intrigued to see what else is in store for them:

Sailcloth Welcome Station
If you do not have a floral arch at your entrance, a statement entrance can work really well. Depending on the weather this could sit just out the front of your Sailcloth or just inside. This space could double as your card collection area, or welcome drinks station.

Hanging Floral Installations
If you choose to have either a floral cloud or floral hoop, there are two ways for you to achieve this look in the Sailcloth. The wire and the hoop.
The Wire
This is fixed in between two of the main central Sailcloth poles. So if you have a Two Pole Sailcloth, you can have one wire. And if you have a Three Pole Sailcloth you can have two. These can have floral clouds fitted to them, which would normally be fixed with hooks, carabiners, or zip ties.
If you wish to create something that requires a wire, the team will set this up for you. We will then leave the pre-installed wire for your florist to transform.

You can also wrap lots of fresh greenery, such as ruscus, around the wire for an alternative look.

The Floral Hoop
The second way we can support your hanging floral installation is with a floral hoop. We have floral hoops for your florist to use, these are 1.2m in diameter. These hang around the central poles. We install a pulley system, with the hoop attached to a rope and carabiner clip. This allows your florist to hoist flowers down to a workable height and then up into place.
The floral hoop has been specially designed for the Sailcloth and comes in two halves to fit around the pole. This is something the build team will put up once the poles and canvas are up, so can’t be taken off once we have installed it.

The Hanging Height
If you are having this gorgeous floral installation, over tables you may choose to have the flowers positioned lower than if guests were walking under it. The height of the sailcloth ranges from 6.5m – 7m, so your florist has lots of space and height to work with.
The Hanging Weight
We are often asked about what weight this can be. The maximum hanging weight for a floral hoop is 20kg. The maximum hanging weight for a wire between the poles is 10kg.
Other Sailcloth Floral Installation Areas
The Tree
An alternative to hanging florals high up in the Sailcloth is to create a floral “tree” around the poles.

Multiple Wires
If you are wanting to hang florals around one end of your Sailcloth, then you have the option of adding multiple wires.

The Tables
The tables are a great place to create floral installations. With either smaller vases or tall pedestals creating height. This can be a great way to add some pops of colour to your space.

Frequently asked questions
We’ve put together a quick guide on some of the commonly asked questions;
Where can we hang a floral hoop?
A floral hoop can hang around a central pole or from a wire in between two central poles.
Can you provide a hoop?
YES, we have a number of hoops that are available to hire. These are 1.2m in diameter. We will leave these pre-installed in the Sailcloth ready for your florist to work their magic.
How do we hang a floral cloud?
Your floral cloud will hang from a wire between two central poles. These would normally be fixed with hooks, or zip ties, or string.
What height should my floral hoop be?
The height of the Sailcloth is between 6.5m – 7m. The height your florist positions it will depend on what you have under it. You may choose to have this lower if it is over a dining table and no one will be walking under it.
When will my florist have access?
For a Saturday wedding, our set-up days are Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. This means your florist will always have at least the Friday afternoon to come in and start on their creation.
