A Sailcloth Spring Showcase at Cattows Farm celebrating creativity and talent from some amazing suppliers.
With the blank canvas of the Sailcloth ready to be ‘Styled with Spring’ we handed it over to Lesley from the Rustic Wedding Company to work her ‘Rustic Magic’. Here Lesley tells us about the inspiration behind the shoot:

The Inspiration
For the Spring Showcase I really wanted to celebrate the season of spring and all that it brings with the colour scheme and the design of the Sailcloth Tent.

Pastel colours always scream Spring to me! I chose to use a combination of soft pastel pinks and sage greens for the fabrics on the chairs and the tables with hints of gold, and signature rustic touches throughout. I wanted this design to be elegant and beautiful but also slightly rustic. This also suits the venue of Cattows Farm perfectly.

Table Settings
With both long trestle tables & round tables, we were able to showcase the different types of centre pieces, table runners and candle arrangements throughout. The long trestle tables in the middle were designed to be showstopper tables. With extra fabric and candles along the length of the tables to create depth and interest with the outer round tables having a simpler design.

For the top table we used a blush pink water-falling drape across the front of the table. I love that the Sailcloth Marquee lends itself well to using a variety of different tables. There really is no need to have just all round or all trestle tables. Lots of venues will only have one type of table and with Sami Tipi, you can have both!

On the tables themselves, I used a variety of different height gold candlesticks with coloured Ester & Erik Dinner candles. I also used clear glass cylinder vases & pillar candles and tea lights.

Stylish Weddings provided us with gold rimmed glassware and gold cutlery and we added seagrass charger plates & knotted pink napkins. Simple white place names and a sprig of greenery finished off the look.

The Flowers
Maria at The Flower Patch created some fabulous British grown spring flower arrangements for the centre pieces on the tables. She also chose to hang some beautiful, dried floral hoops from the central wire between the two sailcloth poles above the central tables.

The Cake
The fabulous intricate cake was provided by Cathlene’s Cakes. This year I decided to give the cake table a central location as we haven’t done this before. Because the cake was so incredible, I wanted to make it the star of the show in the centre of the room.

We covered the table in water-falling blush pink chiffon drapery. Surrounded by tea-lights & greenery with candles & flowers on the floor to create a beautiful focal point. I wanted it to look like the flowers were growing up the table and side of the cake. I think we achieved this perfectly!

At the entrance I created a Welcome Station using a simple & elegant white welcome sign, some gold lanterns, drapery fabric and of course our rustic crates.

To finish off the room, Sorrel & Grace provided us with gorgeous rustic wooden love letters which we surrounded with Spring flowers.

If this shoot doesn’t scream SPRING at you – I don’t know what does!
