The Right Bar Service For Your Outdoor Wedding

The Full Bar Service

In my opinion this is the easiest of the three options, why because it is simply done for you. Do not underestimate the number of decisions you will have to make and consider when planning any wedding, having the drink service done for you is one BIG Tick off your ‘To Do List’.

What Should We Expect From a Good Bar Company?

A good bar company will work with you to create a drinks package that is right for you, this should include;

Trained Bar Staff
Glassware
Chilled drinks
Ice
Table Glassware
Rubbish disposal after the event

Mambo Mobile Bars

The Arrival Drinks Package

If you choose to have an arrival drinks package provided by your bar company, this should be customisable to include the drinks you enjoy. Who said you need to toast with a glass of fizz if what you really want is a shot of Sambuca!

An arrival drinks package as a guide will include an arrival drink of fizz, 1/2 bottle of of table wine, table water and a glass of Prosecco to toast with. The start price for this will be in the region of £20 per head. If you create a bespoke arrival drink / cocktail and also wish for champagne to toast, the price will increase accordingly.

The Cash Bar Service

Most mobile bar companies will offer either a FREE service if you have their welcome drinks package or a booking fee of £300-£500 with a minimum bar spend. If your pre agreed bar spend is hit, some companies will fully refund the booking fee.

This service works like any bar, your guests will pay for their own drinks as and when they order one. If you wanted to give your guests more free drinks why not offer a drink token as a wedding favour.

How to choose your Bar Company

If you are looking for a basic drink service your wedding caterer may offer this for you. This may be very tempting for you as it means you are only dealing with one company, however if you want a full bar service offering cocktails, draft beer and more spirits a mobile bar company will be the better option for you.

A good bar company will invite you in for a consultation to discuss and sample what drinks you wish to serve and take the time to even create a bespoke cocktail with you. TOP TIP Get a taxi to this meeting!

Do not consider your bartender as just a service, they can often be a part of your entertainment too! With Cocktail shaking and bar banter waiting for a drink will be a delight not a chore.

Questions to consider asking a mobile bar company

Can you provide our favourite drink? (is this a draft beer, cocktail or special spirit)
Will we meet to discuss and sample our drinks menu?
Can we create a bespoke cocktail?
What cost are involve/what is the minimum spend?
What are the drinks served in?
Is ice included?
Will they apply for a temporary event licence (if required)?
Will drinks be chilled?
How many staff will work the bar?
Will a glass collector be a part of the bar team?
When will the bar be set up?
Will they take all rubbish away?
How much space do you need?
Is any additional space required other that in the bar area ie glass clearing area in the catering annex?

Considerations with your tipi and bar

It is super important that we get your tipi space right for you. When considering how many tipis you need, our job is to ensure what we recommend is comfortable for both your daytime and evening guests numbers, plus space for everything else for example dance floor, band and bar!

For an intimate wedding, the bar in the chill-out tipi with the fire pit is fine. However once numbers begin to increase this might not be the best place for the bar and it might be that we recommend either having the bar in the main giant hat or fire pit in the giant hat making the bar area comfortable for all your guests and bar staff.

The alternative to a bar inside the tipis is a mobile bar outside, this could be something like a horse box bar which is very popular at the moment.
