We can’t quite believe that the Autumn Open weekend was a month ago! The months of planning and build-up to these events always feels like forever. We just can’t wait for the event to happen! It’s then over before we know it! But wow, what an event it was.
We are always amazed by what our fabulous suppliers pull out of the bag at our tipi open days and this event was no exception.
Being one of our bigger events, we had a large number of suppliers in attendance. They covered every single element of what you could need (or want) for your wedding day. You can find a list of everyone that attended on this blog here.
For those of you that couldn’t make the event, we thought we would run through the day with you in this blog post.
The Autumn Open Weekend was held at one of our long-standing sites, Cattows Farm in Leicestershire. We had two tipi setups on display to showcase just how versatile the tipis can be. From the number of hats to the way the tables can be set up inside, you have so much choice. This event helped to demonstrate that without two themed tipi areas.
Tuscan Romance Tipi
Our first tipi was styled in a Tuscan Romance theme which was styled to perfection by Lesley from The Rustic Wedding Company. The stunning floral decorations were in abundance and these were courtesy of Catkin Flowers. Some of the wow factor features included the stunning greenery roof garlands. The top table was also styled as a romantic swing. There were so many beautiful touches to be seen everywhere, it was hard to know what to look at first!
Within the Tuscan Romance tipi, we also had Rebecca Diamond showcasing her singing skills. This helped our guests to visualise the impact of live music for a tipi wedding. In My Life also joined us with some of their giant LOVE letters for the dance floor. They also brought along the fabulously fun tattoo parlour, which went down a storm.
We also had Belmont House Cakery with the most stunning cake display. This was created to fit in perfectly with the Tuscan romance theme of the tipi. The lovely Kat also made the individual favours which were used within the table styling in this tipi too. The beautiful watercoloured backdrop to the cake was by Amy Bailey Designs.
Finally, in the dedicated bar area of this tipi was Mambo Mobile Bars, who were serving up some delicious mocktails to our guests throughout the day. The hexagonal Bar was provided by Past To Present Vintage Hire.
Capturing the atmosphere of the day and exhibiting within this tipi was the talented photographer Sarah Vivienne.
Welcome to the Jungle Tipi
Over in our second tipi, we had a huge styling contrast with our Welcome to the Jungle theme. This was amazingly curated by the talented Boelle Events. From botanicals to vibrant colours, relaxed seating and a fire pit, this tipi really demonstrated that the sky is the limit with ideas for styling a tipi.
The floral touches in this tipi were provided by The Flower Patch, who were also creating some amazing botanical crowns for some of the suppliers. We also had a wonderful cake on display from The Old Manor House Bakery.
Safron Catering also joined us in this tipi to showcase their amazing catering skills. Within this tipi Darren Cresswell joined us to share his photography talents. He captured some great shots at our styled shoot the day before.
Outside the Tipis
The Autumn open weekend ran over two days. Outside we had a range of different suppliers joining us each day. These included some amazing and unique catering options for your wedding. These included: Biddulphs Pizzeria, Frococonut, Kerb Bears, The Hidden Gem Wood Fired Pizza, Little Retro Kitchen, and the gorgeous vintage Citroen van “Libby-Loo”. Kilo Wines were also on hand with wine samples and lots of expert advice about choosing wines for your big day.
In terms of entertainment, we had the amazing 9 Holes join us, which really drew in some attention as guests approached the venue. We also had Mr Magic himself Paul Grundle in attendance as well as the fabulous Vintage Booth with their Bell Tent.
As we said, we had every part of your wedding covered at this event, including the lovey My Perfect Ceremony, who was positioned outside under the Iconic tree at Cattows Farm. We also had Knifton’s Mobile toilets with us and The Beige Bay who provide a unique wedding transportation service. To top it off we had accommodation with a difference through Bell Bliss. The perfect way to end your tipi wedding is to sleep in a mini version!
We all had such a wonderful day and the feedback we have had from our guests suggests that they did too! It won’t be long before we are announcing the Spring Open weekend, so keep following us on social media, or sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear about this!
