Colourful Tipi Styling Inspiration

This Colourful Tipi Styling Inspiration was put together for a styled shoot and open weekend at Buckminster Barns & Lakeside. With One Giant Hat Tipi at their barn location, we went full on with the colour, using lots of bright florals, balloon displays and special touches.

Colour scheme

We often see a lot of rustic styling in the tipis which is absolutely stunning, but not as often do we see something colourful. So I decided to create something really bright and vibrant, to show a fun side of what you can create in the space.

My colour scheme idea was bright and colourful, but also to put colours together that wouldn’t usually be mixed. The colours we used worked so perfectly and the clash was beautiful. Perfect for any tipi party!

Florals

The florals were key for the table layout. We used Sami Tipi’s nordic pine tables which have 3 panels, and I really wanted to utilise the middle panel and have it completely covered with flowers. I was unsure how we could create this, however, Sarah from Sage and Satin completely understood what I had envisioned. She created a garland to sit directly onto the table covering almost the entire length of the middle panel.

My direction was simply to have bright and colourful flowers but particularly, I wanted sunflowers (even though I wasn’t confident these could be sourced!). Sarah nailed this and put together the exact centrepiece I had envisioned; something I hadn’t seen on the nordics before.

Pretty Details

The rest of the table was complemented by neon candles from Nuptia Weddings and elegant gold charger plates dressed with teal napkins with pink ties. Vicky from Inviting Writing created striking place names using coral material and gold calligraphy. Sarah from the Purple Pumpkin also provided an artistic white iced 3 tiered cake with neon colours brushed on. Macarons were also added from Hajni’s Homemade bakes along with a dried flower arrangement.

Natalie from Signature Occasions suggested a balloon entrance for the tipis, which we decided to create on the initial internal poles, and it could not have turned out any better. Natalie is truly talented at what she does and she dressed the entrance so effortlessly. She made the tipi look even more inviting.
