Excitement is building as we near closer to our open weekend. The event is taking place on the 19th and 20th April at Bawdon Lodge Farm. We have enrolled the help of some very talented suppliers, who will be helping us showcase our magnificent tipis. The open weekend will give you the opportunity to see two giant hats and chill-out tipi and meet fabulous suppliers.
On todays blog I want to shine the spotlight on Mark James Acoustic Guitarist, who you will be able to hear and meet on Sunday 20th April.
Firstly tell us a little bit about yourself?
Mark James , solo acoustic musician playing covers from all eras. Songs from The Beatles to Bruno Mars – Elvis to The Police and Black eyed peas to The Killers . Around 15 years ago i picked up a guitar and embarked on a career entertaining people in pubs , bars , wedding and other social gatherings.
I am professional in my approach to my art, I will strive to satisfy my clients needs to the best of my ability .
How would you describe your style?
My style is raw and totally organic. I can play laid back chill out songs , to blend in to the background and I can also play up tempo and rock out to get a dancefloor on its toes . . .my knowledge of songs from over 200 bands makes me an ideal choice for weddings and corporate hospitality.
What services do you offer?
I offer flexibility. The client can download a 250 song set list from my website, highlight their favourites, email it back to me. They can tailor the set for their own preferences. If required, I can learn new songs too.
What do you love most about weddings?
The guests – Invited family and friends will make a wedding day to remember. The happy atmosphere that the day can provide will make an enjoyable experience for the wedding guests , family and friends and more importantly the happy couple.
Finally… Whats the best moment you’ve had as an acoustic guitarist?
The best moment I’ve had was when I played a secret 40th birthday party for TV celebrity James Nesbitt of “Cold Feet” fame in London . While I was playing I could see many TV personalities turning up and I had to keep my composure while the likes of David Walliams, Anna Friel, David Baddiel and many more . .walked by my eyeline – of course James joined me later in a rendition of “Hey Jude” by the Beatles. We all partied late into the night. A splendid night was had by all.
