Sami Tipi at The National Wedding Show
As you know we have spent the last three weeks counting down to the National Wedding Show at the NEC. The event was a fabulous, we met so many gorgeous brides, grooms and their friends and family, who all seemed to enjoy the day. We took a few photos of the event and wanted to share these with you too. Firstly here is a great photo of the Sami Tipi team getting in to the spirit of things.
During the event we ran a photo booth style competition to win a spa voucher, the winner of which will be announced on our facebook page on Monday 14th October. As we were located in the vintage area we thought it fitting to have a vintage theme to our stand. The picture frame is from the 1950’s, below is a photograph of it in its full glory. We also used a vintage suitcase to house the props used for our photo booth. These items can be hired from specialist vintage hire companies, but on this occasion we were lucky enough to source them ourselves via good old eBay!!
The table pictured below is the table and benches that comes as part of your Tipi hire. The styling of this was kindly done by Honey Bees Vintage Teas, who have a fantastic range of tea sets, bunting, glass bottles and even an old fashioned typewriter, ideal for a vintage style guest book.
Opposite our stand was the vintage cafe which served afternoon tea, of which you could upgrade your tea to a cheeky glass of Prosecco. Even the team managed to fit a visit in towards the end of the event.
Our photo booth competition really was great fun with many couples and their friends getting in to the spirit of it. So much so that even other exhibitors could not wait to have a turn in the frame of fame!!
Located next to us was Revival Live, these gals and guy had a great vintage sound, very fitting for a vintage style wedding. The Bombshell Belles covered 1940’s hits and then sang modern songs including Beyonce’s Crazy in Love but with their own vintage twist. Jim Whitley had a very smooth sound covering Buble, Crosby, Sinatra and The Andrew Sisters seamlessly. Jim also attracted a lot of female attention from some of the brides mums, but we will say no more on that matter!!
The catwalk show was a great feature. Every show was packed, so arriving early to watch it was a must if you wished to get a seat, and just rest your feet for a few minutes. All the models looked great (as you would expect) but it was the children who really stole the show!!
The event really was a great weekend, although it was busy we did manage to meet and speak with other exhibitors, here are just a few of them for you.
If you visited the show we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. If you are considering a visit to the next show in Spring we would highly recommend it.
