What couples often describe to me when they plan their tipi wedding is that they want something relaxed, nothing to formal, which also extends to the catering too. Earlier this year we worked with La Petite Bretonne.
La Petite Bretonne is a local business based in Huddersfield and is run by French nationals Xavier and Caroline. They have lived there for over 12 years now and started selling French sweet and savoury Crepes 3 years ago in local fayres and events.
Due to the enthusiasm of the English public they invested in a charming classic Citroen Hy in early 2013 and converted it into a mobile Creperie. The conversion was followed by Channel 4 on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, season 2.
Most of it was done by Xavier and local help as he was still working his full time job.
Crepes & Galettes are a classic French speciality from the Brittany region (Bretagne), where Caroline is from, hence the name of the van, and she has spend regular time revisiting her roots to create authentic French fillings to excite the English palate.
The savoury crepes are called Galettes and as well as being flavoursome they are gluten and lactose free which is becoming increasingly relevant to the street food scene nowadays.
You can hire “La Petite Bretonne” for private parties, corporate events and weddings.
They would gladly discuss the different type of menus they offer & can create a special “Bride and Groom” to give you yet another reason for you to remember that special day!
You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter and meet them in person at local events, rumours has it that the phrase “Sami’s Tipi sent me” gets you a free sample !!
