Vacancy Crew member – Tipi Erector – March to end October
Do you love the outdoors? Sami Tipi has an exciting opportunity to join their set up team.
Sami Tipi are one of the leading tipi hire companies in the UK and is based in the Midlands. We hire out large linkable tipi structures, mainly for weddings, private parties and corporate events. Most of our events are in the Midlands area, though we do at times travel further afield.
We are currently recruiting for team members to join our successful tipi building team. You would be working on rental jobs, both erecting and dismantling the tipis.
You would also be involved in the loading of vehicles, traveling to site, erecting, and then later dismantling the amazing tipis, furnishing them and finally carrying out cleaning and maintenance tasks at the warehouse.
Sami Tipi has built up an excellent reputation for customer care and all crew are expected to work hard and take a pride in what they do. That said, while the work is hard, it is very satisfying as teams work outside, in the fresh air and very often in some beautiful areas of the countryside.
The crew member needs to meet the following criteria:
– Enthusiastic, motivated and hard working
– Full Driving License for over 2 years with own transport
– Live within 30mins drive of DE73 7JB
– Physically fit and strong
– Good Communication Skills
– Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic
– Eligible to work in the UK
– Be well presented
– Be able to undertake specific tasks as directed and to be able to follow set procedures in the production and collection of all event documents.
– Previous experience within a similar tipi or marquee role
– B&E driving license
– Experience of working outdoors (or an interest to work outside) whatever the weather
You do not need any previous experience of working with tipis as full training will be given, however to have previous experience in the marquee industry would be an advantage.
Hours of work:
When leaving for jobs, we usually meet around 5:30am, so living within 30mins of our warehouse in DE73 7JB would be helpful. On some of our larger jobs, we can work 12 hours, so you must be aware and be prepared for this. As a rule the working week is Sunday through to Thursday with Friday and Saturday off.
We offer competitive rates of pay for our crew and the opportunity for career progression for the right candidates. The job offers plenty of hours of work throughout the season which runs from March to the end of October.
Employees days start early and can be long (sometimes up to 12 hours) so the job is not suitable for people who want a normal 9-5 type of job. However if you’re willing to work the hours you will be rewarded with a satisfying job working as part of a close knit, fun team of people.
